Diaspora Department
Introduction
The Diaspora office is mandated to strengthen, mobilize, and effectively connect Somaliland diaspora to their homeland. By providing access to services, this office helps facilitate diaspora contribution and participation to the development of Somaliland. It maximizes and supports diaspora retuning back to Somaliland by guiding both their human and financial resources.
It is responsible for developing and implementing the strategies and policies for all Somaliland-Diaspora relations, supporting, and encouraging returnees, ensuring an active integration process, mapping the Diaspora's potential, and implementing programs to integrate the Diaspora into every aspect of Somaliland life.
The Diaspora office also engages with Somaliland diaspora communities abroad and provides them with guidelines on how they can become Somaliland ambassadors in their host countries and disseminate Somaliland’s national priorities.
