The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will be holding the online cultural marathon symposium to be attended by Somaliland Ambassadors representing the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, India, Singapore, China, and Australia.

As the Somaliland intensifies its efforts to support arts, the online symposium will serve as a meeting point for arts professionals around the world to explore ways to emerge from this crisis as a global community.

About MFA


Establishment of MFA&IC dates back to 18 May 1991 when the people of Somaliland regained their independence from Somalia and declared the secession from the merge with Somalia in the Grand Conference held in Burao for the peacebuilding process and the self-determination of Somaliland future. MOFAIC was included in the executive council of 18 ministers and 4 vice ministries appointed by presidential decree by the first President of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Ahmed Ali (Tuur) who was elected by Burao Grand Conference as interim president for two years as according to Provisional National Charter drawn up. Sh. Yusuf Sh. Ali Madar was nominated as the first Foreign Minister of Somaliland in May 1991 to May 1993; who was as well the second Chairman of Somaliland National Movement (SNM) between 1/1982-11/1983.
