The Counter-Piracy Coordination (CPC) Office is a semi-autonomous agency that is mandated to bring together a variety of national ministries, institutions and the international community on matters involving the governance of the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, both in terms of security concerns and the cultivation of maritime resource.

Through means of information sharing, knowledge transfer and capacity building platform, the CPC works with a number of international organizations to prevent piracy and other maritime crimes. These organizations include the Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia (CGPCS), the Djibouti Code of Conduct (DCoC) & Jeddah Amendment in which CPC Office is a member and observer.
